It is sometimes worthwhile to have an overview of relative electricity costs in Ontario to provide a meaningful perspective. While the information is publicly available it isn’t presented together in a single view.
The Ontario Energy Board no longer posts historical relative monthly billing rates, however, The annual increases have been held to the rate of inflation since 2017.
The low-density categories qualified for Distribution Rate Protection (see my article on subsidies here) are not included in the presentation as their basic delivery charges are capped at approximately $37 per month by the Ontario Energy Board.
